Jeln is the first and smallest moon of Voon. It is also the only body orbiting Voon to not be in hydrostatic equilibrium.

In-game Description[]

"Many have wondered how Voon manages to keep such magnificently large rings so well kept and tidy. What many kerbals don’t know is that there is a small shepherd moon named Jeln working behind the scenes to keep those rings nice and straight with its gentle gravitational field."

Physical Characteristics[]

Jeln is the only moon of Voon embedded within the rings of Voon. It is a small, asteroid-like moon that helps to shepherd the ice and dust particles in the rings, keeping them clean and tidy. Jeln's flatter shape is a result of dust building up on the equator of the moon, and because Jeln's gravity isn't strong enough to maintain hydrostatic equilibrium, the dust builds up into ridges along the side of the moon.

Orbit - Relationship with Voonian Rings[]

Jeln likely formed out of the material the rings of Voon are made of, similar to a form of micro-accretion. Currently, Jeln's light and gentle gravity are used to help keep the rings clean, forming the small gaps within them.
