Thern is a moon of Laevo, known for its canals filled with water.

In-game Description[]

"Thern is the largest and most distant of the moons around Laevo. Although the majority of the surface is covered in Duna-like plateaus, where life can’t exist, there are extensive canyon ranges filled with water which allow for small forests and complex life in them. Visiting Thern is also a great idea if you want a great view of Laevo and its moons!"

Physical Characteristics[]

Thern is likely one of the most interesting moons in the Laevo lunar system. While it's mostly Duna-like in the sense that it's dry and cold on the plateaus, far deeper down in the canyons, the atmospheric pressure is great enough for not only water to exist, but life as well. With pressures comparable to Kerbin's atmosphere in the canyons, rivers of water flow about the planet, with rich ecosystems on its banks. The gravity of this moon is rather small, comparable to the Mun. The atmospheric pressure on the plateaus is also very low, making the upper areas of this moon uninhabitable.

Thern is the third and farthest moon from Laevo, mostly outside the influence of the strongest tidal effects. In addition, it not only orbits outside Laevo's magnetosphere, but Thern has its own magnetosphere, due its iron core spinning like a dynamo, protecting its atmosphere from blowing away from solar wind.
